Alzheimers, Parkinsons and other types of illnesses associated with age, lead to a progressive lack of autonomy in older people that causes their partners, children, siblings, friends… to take care of them gradually and without any preparation for it.
Taking care of a dependent older person requires good preparation, constant dedication, lots of affection and empathy. Society in general is not usually aware that carers suffer difficult situations that make them uneasy such as: many hours without sleep, alterations due to the behaviour of the elder, or frustration with the progression of the pathologies despite their dedication.
This situation causes physical and psychological problems in the majority of carers that cause the quality of care provided to the elderly to be altered in a considerable way.

Currently, 34% of people of over 65 years of age have dependency problems, which means they have a need for another person to take care of them one way or another.
For this, Foundation Juan Cruzado-Vértice Salud created the CUIDADORES-10: Comunidad 3.0 project, a community of carers on a national level who help elderly people in dependent situations
If you are a carer or you have in your family a dependent elderly person and you would like to be a part of CUIDADORES-10 and use all of our services for free, get in touch with us.
